The Jerris Research Center
The Jerris Research Center houses the USGA Special Collections which include the USGA Library, USGA Archives, and the Historic Photographic Collection. The USGA Library collection is the world's largest and most significant related to golf history, containing more than 500,000 individual items in more than 25 languages documenting golf's development from its origins to the present. The Library's materials cover all aspects of the game, including rules, instruction, golf course architecture, equipment, biographies, travel guides, club histories, agronomy, and literature. Additionally, the Library cares for:
- Photographic Collections
- Special collections of comic books, sheet music, children's books, cookbooks, scrapbooks and more than 35,000 scorecards from courses around the world
- Personal papers and correspondence related to some of the game's most celebrated personalities, such as Bob Jones and Walter Travis
- A rare book collection containing original manuscripts and documents dating back to the 15th century, including the first reference to golf published in the English language
- More than 300 original golf course and club architectural plans and drawings
- Institutional records of the USGA and archival material related to its national championships
- The African American Golf History Archive which includes resources to aid researchers, such as bibliographies, subject terms, and a finding aid. The Archive contains more than 30 archival boxes housing a variety of information and ephemera on people, organizations, events and places critical to the history of African Americans in golf.

Awards and Funding
USGA Herbert Warren Wind Book Award
Established in 1987, the Herbert Warren Wind Award recognizes and honors outstanding contributions to golf literature. Named for the famed 20th-century American golf writer, this award acknowledges and encourages outstanding research, writing and publishing about golf. Presented by the USGA Golf Museum and Library, the Wind Award is the top literary prize awarded by the USGA.

Wilson Endowed Research Fund
