Film Series: Becoming Annika Documentary

  • Tuesday, May 19 | 6 p.m. | World Golf Hall of Fame
  • Step into the World Golf Hall of Fame for a special film series celebrating one of the game’s most iconic figures. This featured screening of Becoming Annika offers an intimate look at Annika Sörenstam’s remarkable journey—from her early beginnings to becoming one of the most dominant players in golf history.
  • Enhance your experience by exploring our newest exhibit, which highlights Sörenstam’s extraordinary career. The exhibit showcases her rise in the sport, including her historic victory at the 1996 U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, located just down the road in Southern Pines. Each artifact on display has been graciously loaned by Annika herself, offering a rare and personal glimpse into her legacy.
  • Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Popcorn and light refreshments will be served.

Mindful Yoga at the Hall of Fame

  • Wednesday, May 27 | 4:30 p.m. | World Golf Hall of Fame
  • Join us for a unique yoga experience inside the World Golf Hall of Fame, led by Kairos Yoga Studio of Southern Pines.
  • This one-hour all-levels class will guide you through gentle, beginner-friendly movements and stretches designed to improve mobility and help you unwind. We’ll ease into a series of restorative postures, then close with a short, calming sound bath—leaving you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and recharged.
  • You’re encouraged to bring your own mat for comfort. We’ll have items available, including blankets, blocks, hand towels, and a few extra mats if needed.

Golf's Hidden Gems: Memorabilia & Valuations with Lee Dunbar

  • Thursday, June 25 | 6 p.m. | World Golf Hall of Fame
  • Join us for an engaging evening celebrating golf history, memorabilia, and collecting with featured guest, Leila "Lee" Dunbar, one of the nation's leading sports memorabilia appraisers, and Mike Trostel, Director of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
  • Lee will share stories from her remarkable career, offer expert insights on the golf memorabilia market (including the surge during the pandemic), notable moments in golf history, and practical advice on how to separate the true treasures from the ordinary in your own collection. Attendees will also enjoy behind-the-scenes tales from the Roadshow.
  • Bring your Treasures
  • Attendees are invited to bring up to two sports or golf-related items for complimentary onsite "ballpark" valuations from Lee Dunbar. Items must be dropped off at the World Golf Hall of Fame between 5 and 6 p.m. before the event.   • Doors open at 5 p.m. Light refreshments and food will be served. 
  • Whether you’re a serious collector, a casual golf fan, or simply curious about what your memorabilia might be worth, this is a rare opportunity to learn from the best in the business. You may even go home a winner!

  • In 1999, Sotheby’s recruited Lee to serve as SVP and Director of its Collectibles Department, where she sold more than $75 million in sports, entertainment memorabilia and collectibles in 9 years, including the estates of Casey Stengel, Pee Wee Reese, Wilt Chamberlain, Katharine Hepburn and Johnny Cash, as well as the collection of Cher; and the Jeff Ellis Vintage Golf Club Collection, which sold for a record setting $2.2 million.
  • Since 2008 Lee has run her own pop culture valuation business, preparing appraisals for insurance, donation, estate and litigation, with more than 675 appraisals prepared, with a valuation of $3.4 billion. Lee has valued some of the most significant golf collections, including the USGA Museum and Library, World Golf Hall of Fame, PGA institution archives and Otto Probst Library; golf clubs Augusta National, Atlanta Athletic Club and Morristown Golf Club; estates of Arnold Palmer, Bobby Jones, Payne Steward, Henry Piccard, Ben Hogan, etc.; collections of numerous Hall of Fame golfers; and private collections.
  • Lee also provides auctioneering, public speaking, expert witness, media commentary and brokerage services. Since its inception in 1996, Lee has appeared as an appraiser on the long-running PBS hit series Antiques Roadshow, with more than 200 filmed appraisals, specializing in Sports Memorabilia, Collectibles and Toys.
