In an engaging talk, she’ll reveal what inspired her to write it, the biggest challenges she encountered during her research and writing journey, and why the book has resonated so deeply with readers. The event will conclude with a live Q&A, where you’ll have the opportunity to ask Dr. Hans your own questions about the book, her discoveries, and the hidden history of Pinehurst.

The Founders Film Showing

- The Founders (2016), directed by Charlene Fisk and Carrie Schrader, is an inspiring documentary that chronicles the remarkable journey of 13 pioneering amateur female golfers who, in 1950, overcame societal prejudice, financial hardships, and internal challenges to establish the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Through archival footage, historical re-enactments, and heartfelt interviews with surviving founders like Louise Suggs, Marilynn Smith, Shirley Spork, and Marlene Bauer Vossler—alongside insights from later stars—the film celebrates their determination to create a professional platform for women's golf, breaking barriers and laying the foundation for future generations in the sport.

Fireside Chat and Q&A with Nancy Lopez

- Join World Golf Hall of Fame member Nancy Lopez for a fireside chat and Q&A with the Hall's director, Mike Trostel. The three-time major champion was enshrined as part of the Class of 1987.
- Nancy Lopez joined the LPGA Tour in 1977 and quickly became a sensation, winning 48 LPGA Tour events—including three major championships—and capturing the hearts of fans with her remarkable skill, infectious enthusiasm, and trailblazing presence in women's golf.
