The Science of Golf Gallery

In the Science of Golf Gallery, explore the work of the USGA Green Section and Equipment Standards teams housed in the Administration building next door. Learn about everything from best practices on pace of play and forward tees, to sustainability and putting green construction to the important science behind the club and the ball. Try the augmented reality golf course sculpture suspended from the ceiling from which you can dive deeper into building, playing and maintaining the golf course.  

The Championships Gallery

In the Championships Gallery, get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to set up, operate, and play in one of the USGA’s 15 national championships. Admire some of our greatest trophies or rest your feet and watch films on “The Spirit of Championship Golf” and “2024 Championship Venues.” 

Style and Substance: The Life and Legacy of Payne Stewart

William Payne Stewart was one of a kind. On the golf course, his fluid swing, competitive fire and bold fashion endeared him to millions of fans around the world. At home and in the locker room, his outgoing personality, sense of humor and generosity of spirit made him a loving husband and father, loyal friend and the life of the party. This exhibit explores Payne's journey from his early life and career to becoming a World Golf Hall of Fame member and one of the most colorful personalities in the game. A special thanks to the Stewart family, who graciously loaned many of the artifacts on display. The exhibit will be on display until September 13, 2026.

World Golf Hall of Fame

On the second floor of this building is the newly reimagined World Golf Hall of Fame. Inaugurated in Pinehurst in 1974 and housed in St. Augustine from 1995-2023, the World Golf Hall of Fame returns to Pinehurst in May of 2024. Here you can learn about new inductees to the World Golf Hall of Fame, watch five films on “What Makes A Hall of Famer”, admire the game’s most prized championship trophies and view personal memorabilia from World Golf Hall of Fame members in the member’s locker room.

Nancy Lopez: The Making of a Champion

The incredible career of Nancy Lopez began in Roswell, N.M., where her parents, Domingo and Marina, taught her to play golf and instilled a love and respect for the game. Lopez won two U.S. Girls’ Junior titles and led her high school golf team to two state championships. Her experiences as a young girl paved the way for her numerous amateur and professional victories, as well as her place in the World Golf Hall of Fame.Through Lopez’s own voice, this exhibit tells the story of her childhood and early career and provides valuable insight into the making of a champion. This exhibit will on display until March 16, 2026.
