The USGA will continue to communicate to ticket buyers directly via email. Information can always be found at uswomensopen.com or through the U.S. Women’s Open app.
Will fans be able to watch the action on both courses?
As we work through the logistics of conducting the U.S. Women’s Open Championship on two golf courses for the first time, we are examining all aspects of fan access and engagement to ensure an exemplary experience. More information regarding fan experience, week-of programming and special events will be released closer to championship week. Real-time scoring, highlights and more from play on both courses will be available on the U.S. Women’s Open app, available free of charge to all fans of the championship.
Will play from both courses be broadcast on Fox on Thursday and Friday?
In partnership with Fox Sports, we remain committed to maximizing the exposure of the 75th U.S. Women’s Open. The U.S. Women’s Open receives more coverage hours than any other women’s golf tournament, and it remains our priority to provide an exemplary television experience. We will work through the details surrounding our postponement in collaboration with Fox, and broadcast schedule specifics will be released at a later date.
What, if any, safety measures will be taken or guidelines put in place to ensure the health and well-being of fans, players and volunteers?
The USGA will follow all guidelines suggested by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is in frequent communication with local, state and national government officials. The health and safety of all involved with the championship remain our top priorities. On-site professional medical assistance is always a component of our fan experience. Additional measures regarding hand sanitizing and general disinfecting techniques will be announced at a later date.
How will this date change affect exemption categories?
The USGA is examining all exemption categories and is aware that quite a few will be impacted by the date change. Any changes will be communicated to all players as soon as possible.
How will this affect qualifying?
As we previously announced, the original schedule of qualifying dates and sites was canceled due to CDC and World Health Organization guidelines. With a December championship, we expect to be able to hold qualifying throughout the world. Dates, and potentially new locations, will be announced at a later time.
If I have already applied to play, do I have to apply again for the new date
Non-exempt players who applied for qualifying have been issued a full refund and will need to re-apply once the revised qualifying plan is announced and entries are made available. Exempt players who have registered for the U.S. Women’s Open Championship will remain registered. Those exempt players who do not wish to compete given the new dates can request a full refund by emailing champs@usga.org.
I have not yet applied to play. When will entries open for the December championship?
The entry open date and entry close date will be announced along with the revised qualifying plan. There will be ample time and opportunity for all players to apply for qualifying and the championship.
When and where will qualifying be conducted?
We do not yet have an updated qualifying calendar, but we are working closely with Allied Golf Associations and International Federations to create a schedule that celebrates the openness of the U.S. Women’s Open while working to ensure the health and safety of all.
I entered qualifying but can no longer do it OR do not wish to try this year. How can I get a refund for my entry?
All players who registered for qualifying will receive a full refund and will be notified via email when their refund has been processed. All refunds will be processed within 10-12 business days.
