Todd Lowe

Agronomist Southeast Region

Lowe is an agronomist in the USGA Green Section's Southeast Region. He joined the staff in 2000 and is based on the southwest coast of Florida. His duties include Course Consulting Service visits, giving presentations to industry groups and universities, and writing for various industry publications. Although he works throughout the Southeast Region, his main focus is on visiting golf courses in Florida.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in environmental horticulture with an emphasis in turfgrass. He also has a Master of Science degree in horticulture from Clemson University.

A native Floridian, Lowe became interested in golf course maintenance at the age of 14 while working for his father, David Lowe. He worked for his father at The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach throughout high school and junior college. He also worked part time at the Walker Golf Course at Clemson University while attending graduate school.

Prior to joining the USGA, Lowe worked full time for Clemson University as a turfgrass research technician. In 2000 he received the GCSAA's Watson Fellowship. He also was chosen to participate in the USGA Green Section's summer internship program in 1999. He has the distinction of being the first intern to have become a member of the Green Section staff.
