NCR Country Club, Kettering, Ohio | Photo by James Campion, Director of Golf Courses and Grounds
A staff member hand watering greens to get them ready for a hot day has been a common sight on golf courses lately, with many areas experiencing hot and dry weather so far this summer. When this photo was taken, NCR Country Club had seen less than an inch of rain in total over the course of three weeks. While the sprinklers at many courses are working overtime right now, there is still no substitute for the precision of skillful hand watering, especially when it comes to the greens. Touching up a few dry spots before play also makes for a nice photo on a warm summer morning.
