The end of another golf season gives us all time to reflect on successes and weaknesses. The winter months are a wonderful time to take stock of where improvements are needed, or where past improvements saved the day and can be further expanded on. However, the winter is not just for work, it is also for family and yourself. Many of us will spend a little bit more time at home, sleep in a little, get our kids to and from school, and take some much-needed vacation time.
Winter is also turf conference season. These next few months are an important opportunity to reconnect with colleagues that you lose track of during the busy season. It is also time to hear speakers present innovative ideas, expanded research, or learn about new equipment and products that can help us do our jobs better and more efficiently in 2020. The Northeast is loaded with top-quality conferences, no one should have to travel far – unless they want to – to find excellent education.
Some upcoming conferences that you might want to consider attending are:
- Maryland Turfgrass Conference, December 10, Ellicott City, Maryland
- New Jersey Turfgrass Association Green Expo, December 10-12, Atlantic City, New Jersey
- Eastern Pennsylvania Turf Conference and Trade Show, January 24, East Earl, Pennsylvania
- Northeastern Pennsylvania Turf Conference and Trade Show, February 6, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
- Western Pennsylvania Turf Conference and Trade Show, February 26, Mars, Pennsylvania
