COURSE CARE

Is Your Golf Course Sustainable?

By Adam Moeller

| Dec 11, 2013

What was once a well-manicured golf hole in April 2010 is (R) now planted to corn (photo taken July 2013) after this golf facility closed for business.

Economic and environmental sustainability are major challenges facing golf. The USGA Green Section is leading efforts to provide turf management information to golf facilities that will improve their long-term sustainability. Visit Golf and the Economy or click on the Course Care tab at www.usga.org for information on economic and environmental sustainability that will be pertinent to your facility.
