2023 U.S. Mid-Amateur Fan Information

The low 64 scorers after 36 holes of stroke play will advance to match play. If necessary, a playoff will be conducted to trim the draw to exactly 64 competitors.

Starting times will be posted once available at usga.org closer to the championship.

Attendance to the U.S. Mid-Amateur is complimentary and does not require a ticket for admission.  Fans are invited to attend all days of the competition.

Parking will be available for spectators on a space available basis in the main parking lots of both Sleepy Hollow CC and Fenway GC.

We ask that you respect each player’s complete focus on preparing for and playing in the championship. If you are requesting an autograph, please be respectful and wait until they have concluded play for the day. 

The USGA encourages fans to capture their favorite moments at our championships and stay connected with family and friends while on-site. We have set guidelines on mobile device usage to ensure our players and other fans are not distracted or disrupted during the championship. Fans may carry mobile devices smaller than 7” in length and/or height; however, please make sure all device volume controls are set to “silent” or “vibrate” and flash photography is disabled prior to entering the championship grounds. Phone calls must not be received or placed in any area that may disrupt play. Photography, video and audio recording are permitted throughout the course, but content must not be used for commercial purposes or disrupt play. Live streaming or shot-by-shot coverage of any player (with or without video) is not permitted at any time throughout championship week.

Food and beverage options will be available for purchase on property.

Official championship merchandise will be available for purchase in the golf shop at each club.

  • No Weapons (regardless of permit, including but not limited to firearms or knives)
  • No Explosives and/or Fireworks of any kind
  • No Tablets and/or Computers (mobile devices smaller than 7" are permitted, subject to mobile device policy)
  • No Drones
  • No Selfie Sticks
  • No Cameras (point and shoot, film, or DSLR) or Video Cameras (other than practice round days, for personal use only)
  • No Noise-Producing Devices (including portable speakers)
  • No Glass, Coolers, Aerosol Cans and/or Spray Bottles except for medical or infant needs
    • NOTE: Personal-care items (3-ounce size or less) are permitted.
  • No Pets (other than service animals as defined by the ADA assisting disabled individuals)
  • No Lawn Chairs and/or Oversized Chairs (carrying cases are not permitted)
  • No Ladders and/or Step Stools or other similar items
  • No Bicycles allowed inside admission areas or on the championship grounds.
  • No other items or actions deemed unlawful, dangerous or disruptive by the USGA and/or Championship Security Personnel, in their sole discretion.
    • NOTE: The USGA reserves the right to amend the List of Prohibited Items at any time to provide a safe and secure championship.

The USGA is committed to providing a positive and user-friendly experience for all fans with disabilities. Accessible parking spaces for all vehicles having appropriate HD/DP license plates or placards will be reserved at all parking locations. Each club will have a shuttle circling the golf courses with drop-off points to benches at viewing points throughout the golf courses.

The USGA will communicate important safety information to fans through special alerts and we will have rules officials and general staff communicating to any fans specific instructions if there is inclement weather.

A suspension of play for dangerous conditions will be indicated by one prolonged air-horn blast. In the event of a suspension of play, the grounds will be cleared immediately. If lightning is detected, please avoid open areas, hilltops, high places, isolated trees, golf carts and wire fences, and seek shelter immediately. Play will resume as soon as conditions allow.
