Olson (nee Anderson) nearly broke through for her first major victory -- and first as a member of the LPGA Tour -- in the rescheduled 2020 U.S. Women's Open at Champions Golf Club in Houston, coming one stroke short of A Lim Kim. Her championship performance included a first-round hole-in-one on the Cypress Creek Course. Olson had a remarkable amateur career, winning an NCAA-record 20 times while at North Dakota State. The Fargo, N.D., native was home-schooled before entering college at the age of 17. Before arriving at North Dakota State, she captured the 2009 U.S. Girls’ Junior, defeating Kimberly Kim in the championship match. She also represented the USA in the 2012 Curtis Cup Match. Olson also tied for second in the 2018 Evian Championship and shared ninth in the 2018 ANA Inspiration. She is married to North Dakota State assistant football coach Grant Olson.
