Kawamitsu qualified for her first U.S. Women’s Open by sharing medalist honors with countrywoman Natsumi Nakanishi in Japan on April 26, shooting 2-over-par 146. A longtime member of the LPGA Tour of Japan, her best season was 2015 when she finished 52nd on the money list. She is still seeking her first win on that circuit. She has two wins on the JLPGA’s Step Up Tour, including the 2021 KCFG Ladies Golf Tournament Madonoume Cup.
