A day before celebrating her 21st birthday, Choi qualified for her first U.S. Women’s Open on May 10 by shooting 4-over-par 144 to earn medalist honors. Just completed her junior year at Santa Clara University, where she owns three top-10 finishes in 16 events. Graduate of Punahou High School, the same school that produced President Barack Obama and 2014 U.S. Women’s Open champion Michelle Wie West. Helped Punahou win the state title from 2015-18, while capturing the individual championship as a senior in 2018.
