Road to Olympic: Qualified at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Va.
The Ohio State third-year sophomore will play in her first U.S. Women’s Open after earning medalist honors in Alexandria, Va. The Emmitsburg, Md., resident shot even-par 144. Seumanutafa was the Big 10 Conference Freshman of the Year in 2019, earning All-America honors to boot. She has led the Buckeyes in scoring each of the last three seasons, including a 71.69 average this past season. In 2017, Seumanutafa and partner Faith Choi carded a record 60 in the first round of stroke play of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla. Prior to Ohio State, she won the 2017 North & South Girls Junior at Pinehurst and was the runner-up in the North & South Women’s Amateur a year later. Earlier this year, she was one of 12 players invited to participate in an informal practice session for the 2021 Curtis Cup Match, which will be contested at the end of August in Wales.
