Road to Olympic: Qualifier from Yokohama Country Club in Japan

Katsu, who earned her third consecutive U.S. Women's Open start by surviving a 3-for-2 playoff in the Yokohama Country Club qualifier in Japan on April 26, became the youngest champion in LPGA of Japan Tour history when she captured the 2014 KKT Cup Vantelin Ladies Open as a 15-year-old amateur. Before turning professional, she won the 2014 New Zealand Stroke Play Championship, the 2014 Japan Junior Golf Championship and the 2015 Japan Women’s Amateur. Katsu also represented Japan in the 2012 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship. Since turning pro, Katsu has posted three more victories on the LPGA of Japan Tour, two of which came in 2019.
