Jutanugarn survived a four-hole playoff with Hyo Joo Kim to win the 2018 U.S. Women’s Open at Shoal Creek. It was the second major championship for the long-hitting Jutanugarn following the 2016 AIG Women’s British Open. Her most recent triumph came in the 2021 Honda Thailand, where she carded a final-round 63 to win by one stroke over countrywoman Atthaya Thitikul and end a three-year victory drought. Jutanugarn enjoyed a fruitful junior/amateur career, winning the 2011 U.S. Girls’ Junior at Olympia Fields (Ill.) Country Club and reaching the semifinals of that championship a year later. She also was a semifinalist in the 2012 U.S. Women’s Amateur. Older sister Moriya is also a member of the LPGA Tour.
