After earning first-alternate status in the May 13 qualifier in Gold Canyon, Ariz., Hsu played her way into the field by winning her first LPGA Tour event, the Pure Silk Championship at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Va., on May 23. A final-round 68 led to a two-stroke victory over Moriya Jutanugarn to become the first player from Chinese Taipei to win on the LPGA Tour since Yani Tseng at the 2012 Kia Classic. Previously, Hsu had registered two victories on the Symetra Tour, the last coming in the 2014 Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Women’s Health Classic. This will be Hsu’s seventh U.S. Women’s Open start. She tied for fifth in 2019 at Shoal Creek.
