Welcome Volunteers!


PLEASE NOTE: The USGA was recently made aware of a fraudulent email campaign in which persons are falsely posing as USGA representatives to offer job candidates part-time employment for use of their vehicles to advertise for the 2020 U.S. Open. Please be advised that this is a scam.  This email campaign and the persons involved are in no way affiliated with or have any connection to the USGA or the U.S. Open.  Do not respond to the email and do not provide any personal or financial information.  If you receive any such email or solicitation, please email the USGA at privacy@usga.org.  You may also want to notify your local law enforcement regarding this scam.


Winged Foot Golf Club will host the 120th U.S. Open Championship from June 15-21, 2020. Approximately 4,500 dedicated individuals will comprise the Volunteer Program for the 120th U.S. Open! 2020 U.S. Open Volunteer Program Fast Facts:

Time Commitment
All volunteers for the 120th U.S. Open Championship will volunteer for a minimum of four (4) shifts with each shift lasting between four (4) to six (6) hours. Volunteers will not be paid wages or compensated in any other manner in exchange for their volunteer activities.

Volunteers will be required to purchase the Volunteer Package for $185.

Volunteer Package

  • Volunteers will receive a credential valid for all seven (7) days of the championship
  • A meal voucher for each assigned shift
  • Access to Volunteer Hospitality
  • Two (2) golf shirts
  • A wind jacket
  • A piece of headwear
  • A water bottle

Committee Assignment
Approximately 19 committees will comprise the Volunteer Program at the 120th U.S. Open Championship. Committee assignments will be communicated in the summer of 2019. Please note, volunteers may be subject to a criminal history background check and/or a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check based on committee assignment.

Volunteer opportunities are largely granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The Championship Office will notify you if you have been selected as a volunteer. You can fill out the application online OR you can download the application above. Complete the form in its entirety and return it to the attention of the 120th U.S Open Championship Office, 851 Fenimore Road Mamaroneck, NY 10543. All checks should be made out to the United States Golf Association.
