-Won the 2017 and 2018 Southern California Golf Association Senior Amateur Championship
-Won the 2017 SCGA Senior Match Play Championship
-Playing in his fifth USGA championship, with the first being the 1978 U.S. Junior Amateur, in which he advanced to the Round of 64
-Played college golf for the University of Arizona, graduating in 1983
-Works as a software engineer for United Technologies

-Defeated Joe Palmer, of West Des Moines, Iowa, 2 and 1

-Competing in his 36th USGA championship
-2013 U.S. Senior Amateur champion

-Graduate of Kent State University, where he played on the golf team and now has a scholarship in his name
-Was the low amateur in the U.S. Senior Open in 2012 and 2013
-In 2012, became the first player in USGA history to make match play in the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur and U.S. Senior Amateur. He advanced to the Round of 32 in the U.S. Amateur.
