The 156-player field is now set for the 72nd U.S. Women’s Open at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. The last six spots were filled on Monday afternoon with six players who were first alternates in 36-hole sectional qualifiers that were contested at 25 sites across the United States and international locations between May 22 and June 12. The last player to advance out of sectional qualifying and win the Women’s Open was Birdie Kim in 2005 at Cherry Hills Country Club.

Let’s meet the last six players to get in the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open field:

Angel Yin, 18, of Arcadia, Calif., was the first alternate from the City of Industry, Calif., qualifier. Yin has two top-5 finishes on the LPGA Tour in 2017 and finished tied for 15th in the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic on July 9. She is second in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race behind Sung Hyun Park.

Alison Walshe, 27, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., was the first alternate from the Hingham, Mass., qualifier. This will be Walshe’s sixth U.S. Women’s Open. She finished tied for 27th in 2011. Walshe was a member of the victorious 2008 USA Curtis Cup Team and won the 2007 North & South Women’s Amateur.

Madelene Sagstrom, 24, of Sweden, was the first alternate from the New Smyrna Beach, Fla., qualifier. She has two top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour this year and finished tied for 11th in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. In 2016, she won three times on the Symetra Tour and finished tied for 46th in her only other Women’s Open start.

Nelly Korda, 18, of Bradenton, Fla., was the first alternate from the Bradenton, Fla., qualifier. She is the younger sister of Jessica Korda, who is also in the field this week. The Kordas both played in the 2013 and 2016 Women’s Opens as well. Nelly has made the cut in 11 of 13 LPGA Tour events this year, including a tie for fifth at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic.

Sara Banke, 25, of Danville, Calif., was the first alternate from the Daly City, Calif., qualifier. She finished fourth in the Symetra Tour’s Island Resort Championship on June 23. Banke won the 2014 California Women’s Amateur and the 2015 San Francisco City Championship. She is playing in her first Women’s Open.

Maddie Szeryk (a), 20, of Canada, was the first alternate from the Fort Worth, Texas, qualifier. She is a senior at Texas A&M University and a member of the Canadian National Amateur Team. Szeryk is currently No. 30 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. She won the 2015 Ontario Women’s Amateur and the 2013 Canadian Junior Girls Championship.
