The second round of stroke play for the 2017 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 8, has been postponed due to the forecast for severe weather. Play is slated to resume on Monday. Starting times will remain intact.

This decision was reached with consideration to operational and logistical issues. The potential impact of Hurricane Nate on players, club staff and volunteers, along with safety issues, was reviewed. Capital City Club-Crabapple and Atlanta National Golf Club will be taking the morning to remove all tee signs, banners, signage, ecology and tenting in preparation for the impending weather.

An update on Monday’s play and the week’s remaining U.S. Mid-Amateur schedule will be distributed on Sunday evening. All practice and clubhouse facilities will be closed during the postponement.

The U.S. Mid-Amateur last lost a full day of play during the 2009 championship. Monday’s first round of match play at Kiawah Island (S.C.) Club was postponed due to weather.
