Chevron and the USGA team up for a special charitable initiative that donates $5,000 for every eagle and $10,000 for every double eagle or hole-in-one made at the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Senior Open to Eagles for Education.
The initiative helps fund golf-related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) enriched educational programs, with a total annual minimum commitment of $500,000.
The 34th U.S. Senior Open, which concluded on Sunday at Omaha Country Club in Omaha, Nebraska, featured 31 eagles and also an increased contribution by Chevron for eagles made in the third and fourth rounds, to $15,000 apiece.
There were nine eagles made in the final round of the U.S. Senior Open, including two by Kirk Triplett. These bring the total U.S. Senior Open contribution to $335,000 and the final 2013 donation amount to $585,000. Combined with 2012’s total, Chevron’s two-year donation to Eagles for Education tops $1.2 million.

Eagles for Education is part of Chevron’s broad support as an official partner of the USGA, where the two organizations work together to implement student-friendly content and unique experiences that showcase the science behind golf to drive interest in STEM education, while introducing young people to many of the fundamental elements of the game.
