Far Hills, N.J. – The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced today that tickets are on sale for the 2013 U.S. Open Championship, scheduled for June 10-16 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa. The U.S. Open will be played at Merion for the fifth time, and the first since 1981.
Due to the size of Merion Golf Club, there is a very limited quantity of tickets available for purchase. A total of 25,000 spectator tickets per day will be sold for the 2013 championship, significantly fewer than for a typical U.S. Open. Since inventory is limited, tickets are expected to sell out quickly and those who are interested are encouraged to purchase tickets as early as possible.
A variety of tickets and packages are available for purchase:
- 1895 Club tickets: This exclusive air-conditioned pavilion offers live broadcast coverage and ample seating, plus breakfast, a buffet lunch with hot entrees, afternoon snacks and full bar service throughout the day.
- Trophy Club tickets: Trophy Club tickets include access to the grounds of Merion Golf Club, as well as the Trophy Club, an air-conditioned pavilion with live U.S. Open television coverage. Enhanced food and beverages may be purchased at an additional charge.
- Grounds tickets: Grounds tickets provide access to the grounds of Merion Golf Club.
- Weekly packages: Each ticket option can be purchased as a week-long ticket package. All weekly packages include a playoff ticket for Monday, June 17 (if needed). 1895 Club ticket packages include a Trophy Club playoff ticket, as the 1895 Club will not be open during a playoff day.
All tickets include complimentary parking and transportation to and from the parking area and the championship entrance.
Ticket orders will only be accepted on USGA websites at www.usopen.com and www.usga.org/tickets, or if received via a mailed application. Questions or a request for a printed application can be directed via e-mail to ticketquestions@usga.org or via phone at 800-698-0661.
Junior tickets are always available on-site at will call and at all admission gates during the championship. Juniors age 12 and younger will be admitted free of charge any day when accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Tickets for juniors age 13 to 17 will be available for purchase at a reduced rate. There is a maximum of two junior tickets per one adult ticket holder. Junior tickets permit Trophy Club access only when accompanied by an adult Trophy Club ticket holder. Junior tickets do not permit 1895 Club access but may be purchased for access to the 1895 Club.
