Sammamish, Wash. – Three-time major-championship winner Nick Price has withdrawn from the 2010 U.S. Senior Open. Price, who won the 1992 and 1994 PGA Championship and 1994 British Open, has a toe injury that will prevent the native of Zimbabwe from competing.

Professional Paul Trittler of Cave Creek, Ariz., will take Price’s spot in the field. Trittler was the first alternate from the July 5 sectional qualifier in Lake St. Louis, Mo. He shot a 69 at Lake Forest Country Club.

Trittler, who competed in the 2009 U.S. Senior Open at Crooked Stick, is now in Price’s starting slot at 12:50 p.m. with Jay Haas and two-time U.S. Senior Open champion Hale Irwin. – David Shefter
