Paul G. Brown

USGA Executive Committee

Paul G. Brown, of Brookeville, Md., is in his second year on the USGA Executive Committee.

He has four decades of experience in the banking industry, most recently serving as Director of Commercial Banking Administration for Burke and Herbert Bank in Alexandria Virginia.  Burke and Herbert is a $3 Billion bank founded in 1852 with the current chairman being the fifth generation of family leadership.

Brown has served as an official at 40 USGA championships – including 8 US Opens – and is an instructor in the USGA/PGA Rules Workshops.  He served on the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Committee for 16 years and is the Immediate Past President of the Middle Atlantic Golf Association and a Past President of the Washington Metropolitan Golf Association.

He has served in various leadership positions for several educational organizations in Maryland and is a graduate of Leadership Maryland.

Brown earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Bucknell University.

In 2019, Brown will serve on the Amateur Status, Investment, and Rules of Golf (JRC) committees.
