Dr. Steve Kammerer is the regional director of the Green Section’s Southeast Region. His path to the USGA comes from the Ag-Chem industry following more than 25 years of experience in sales, technical service and research. Steve’s background encompasses the pest management realm and plant physiology in abiotic stress mitigation. Steve has extensive familiarity working across the Southeast with golf course superintendents, distributors, researchers and governmental agencies. He also has experience in aquatics, ornamentals, and precision delivery and monitoring of irrigation in crop production systems.
Steve received his Bachelor of Science degree in plant protection horticulture from The Ohio State University. An Ohio native, following graduation he went to the University of Georgia where he received his Master of Science degree in plant pathology. Following an 18 year break from academia, Steve went back to school to complete his doctorate at the University of Florida. His USGA regional office is located in the Atlanta area.
