Far Hills, N.J. -- The United States Golf Association has announced that the 2017 U.S. Amateur will be contested at historic Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The dates of the championship are Aug. 14-20.
This will be the third USGA championship for Riviera, following the 1948 U.S. Open, won by Ben Hogan, and the 1998 U.S. Senior Open, won by Hale Irwin.
Designed by George C. Thomas Jr. and William P. Bell, Riviera has twice hosted the PGA Championship (1983 and 1995) and has been a longtime host site for the PGA Tour's Northern Trust Open. It is also hosting this year's NCAA Division I Men's Championship.
