On June 14-20, 2010, the U.S. Open Championship returns to the Pebble Beach Golf Links.  This will be the fifth time that the U.S. Open will be played at Pebble Beach, and it will surely be a challenge for the 156 players who will be participating, as well as a memorable experience for the thousands of spectators and volunteers who will be on-site.

At each championship, volunteers play many important roles, such as serving as marshals, assisting with scoring, providing information services to spectators and staffing several other areas that are vital to the championship.  Volunteers are truly the backbone of every USGA championship, and we could not hold the U.S. Open without their help and support.

If you are interested in participating in this historic event, please visit our Volunteer Web site . Follow the instructions to complete the online application.  All individuals chosen to be volunteers will be assigned to one of 20 committees and will be asked to work at least four shifts.  Shifts will last approximately six hours.  Please be sure to list four committees that you would like to join.  Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will be selected as a volunteer or placed on one of your committee choices.  However, if selected, we will do our best to ensure that you have a great experience.

All volunteers will be required to purchase the Volunteer Package.  This package includes the volunteer uniform and a credential valid for all seven days of the Championship (even when you are not volunteering).  The volunteer uniform will consist of two logoed golf shirts, a vest, a jacket, and a hat or visor.  The volunteer uniform will be specifically designed for the 110 th U.S. Open Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links.  Along with volunteer uniforms, women may wear khaki pants, skirts or shorts of appropriate length and men may wear khaki pants or shorts of the appropriate length.  The price of the entire volunteer package will be approximately $165.  Please DO NOT send payment for the volunteer package with your application.  The Championship Office will notify you if you have been selected as a volunteer and, if selected, your committee assignment.  At that time, selected volunteers will receive an invoice for the total amount of the volunteer package. Also, please be aware that you will be responsible for your accommodations - and that lodging options in the area will be limited and expensive.

This is your chance to enjoy, firsthand, the excitement of the U.S. Open Championship.  Volunteer positions will fill up fast, so sign up soon . We know you will have the time of your life!
