Far Hills, N.J. - Kevin O'Connor has added oversight of Regional Affairs and the National Assistance to Golf Association Programs to his current responsibilities, which include Handicapping, GHIN and Information Services. His new title is Senior Director, Handicapping, GHIN, Regional Affairs and Information Systems.

"Kevin's experiences at state and regional golf associations, together with his USGA experiences and high performance level, make him a strong choice to lead Regional Affairs and the direct assistance programs," said USGA Executive Director David Fay.  "I'm very happy that Kevin accepted these added responsibilities and I'm confident he'll do an excellent job."

O'Connor joined the USGA in 1995 as Manager, GHIN Regional Services. Since then, he's been promoted several times. Prior to joining the USGA, O'Connor was the Director of Course Rating and Handicapping at the Northern California Golf Association. He also served as a board member of the Utah Golf Association in the late 1980s just prior to heading back to his home state to join the NCGA staff.

He received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Utah State University, where he was a four-year member of the school's Division I golf team.

The re-alignment was necessary because of the recent retirement of long-time USGA employee Tony Zirpoli.
