Far Hills, N.J. - Two-time U.S. Open champion Andy North has accepted a special exemption to play in the 2005 U.S. Senior Open, the United States Golf Association has announced.
The 2005 U.S. Senior Open will be conducted at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio, from July 28-31.
North, who won the 1978 and 1985 Open titles, is one of 21 players with multiple victories in the Open. He will be playing in his fourth Senior Open. His best finish was a tie for eighth at the 2003 Senior Open at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
He made just four Champions Tour appearances in 2004 because of injuries. He finished T54th at the 2005 Senior PGA Championship last week. |
