USGA Year-End Show Scheduled For Dec. 11 On NBC

Far Hills, N.J. - The United States Golf Association's 13 national championships will be highlighted in a 60-minute television special to be broadcast on NBC at 2 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 11).
The "USGA Year in Review" will show footage of all 13 national champions, with emphasis on the winners of the U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open,
U.S.
Senior Open and U.S. Amateur.
Hosted by Jimmy Roberts from Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., site of the 2006 Open, the show includes five members of the NBC golf broadcast team sharing their favorite USGA memories of the 2005 championship season.

of Boca Raton, Fla., capping her amateur career by winning the U.S. Women's Amateur to the dramatic bunker shot by
Korea
's Birdie Kim on the final hole at the U.S. Women's Open, there was plenty of excitement in 2005.
In between wins for Pressel and

, 15-year-old
Michelle
Wie
of Honolulu, Hawaii, took on a men's field at the U.S. Amateur Public Links and marched all the way to the quarterfinals before losing to eventual champion
Clay
Odgen
of West Point, Utah.
Kevin
Tway
of Edmond, Okla., son of PGA champion
Bob
Tway
, won the U.S. Junior Amateur, while 65-year-old
Mike
Rice
of Houston, Texas, became the oldest winner of the USGA Senior Amateur in 18 years.
There were also come-from-behind winners at the U.S. Open and U.S. Senior Open.
Michael
Campbell
rejuvenated his career with a two-stroke win over Tiger Woods at the Open while
Allen
Doyle
overtook the field with a final round 63 to capture the Senior Open.
Finally, a team of top amateurs from the
USA
snapped a three-match losing skid with a one-point victory over a team from
Great Britain
and
Ireland
in the Walker Cup Match at historic Chicago Golf Club.
