For Mac Users:

Click on the apple icon atop the screen, choose 'System Preferences,' select 'Displays,' then pick 1024 x 768.

Far Hills, N.J. – A new and improved USGA Web site, www.usga.org, launched today and coincides with U.S. Open Media Day at Shinnecock Hills (N.Y.) Golf Club.  The 13-month project was guided by the principle of making the site easier to navigate while streamlining, organizing and tightening the presentation.

With the assistance of @tmosphere, the Web site design arm of BBDO, the New York-based advertising agency the USGA uses for its public-service announcements, the site was overhauled and retooled with an emphasis on polishing the look without compromising any of the vital content or the USGA's graphic standards.

Site visitors – whether they are interested in Rules, the Green Section, Championships, Equipment Standards or Grants – will now find a more efficient way to surf.  A “bread-crumbs-style” collapsible navigation bar on the left side of each page shows where a particular user has visited.  A revamped search engine that is powered by Google technology is also new.Based on overwhelming data, resolution is now 1024x768, a growing trend in the Web industry.

"Printer-friendly pages" have been added to satisfy Mac and PC users, as well as flash images for aesthetics.  And download time has been improved.
