USGA P.J. Boatwright Internship

Feb. – May ’08 (Internship ends in Dec ’08)

This position is located in Lafayette, Louisiana.

- Computer skills
- Preferably Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office 2003 Professional (Access, Excel, Front Page, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), and Adobe PageMaker
- Strong written, verbal, and public relations skills
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
- Some knowledge of and interest in golf administration
- Intern is required to attend a week-long orientation (funded by United States Golf Association) in Far Hills, NJ

Interact with LGA Board of Directors, LGA Member Clubs, LGA Championship event participants, other golf-related constituencies in Louisiana, and USGA staff. Participate on course rating teams, championship rules committees, and other field activities. Under the direction of the Executive Director, organize strategies for new initiatives in handicapping administration, promotion of the LGA, public relations, member services, and other areas as the need arises. This position will provide a wide-ranging experience for an individual seeking to pursue a career in golf administration.
