Responsibilities

The Rules of Golf Associate position is a two-year assignment, after which employment with the USGA will end. During that time the Associate will be responsible for answering Rules of Golf inquiries received via telephone, e-mail, and letter. The Associate will also be responsible for processing applications for reinstatement to amateur status and handling amateur status inquiries. On the job training will be provided.

The Associate must be able to respond to inquiries in a tactful and timely manner, and work without supervision, particularly during the USGA Championship season.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of the Rules of Golf
  • Attendance at a PGA/USGA Rules workshop or other Rules seminars is essential
  • Experience working at a golf association, PGA section, etc. is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • An interest in a career in golf administration
