Supervisor, Security

11:00am – 4:00pm, two days a week divided between Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

- Perform all duties of security guard at the museum or at times other designated areas.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks/chores.
- Assist with special events, emergencies and shipping/receiving duties.

- Performs all duties of security in the museum as directed.
- Learns and follows procedures outlined in security manual.
- Remains visible to establish a security presence.
- Ensures the safety of USGA staff, museum guests and visitors.
- Reports all unusual activities/events to immediate supervisor, assistant director of facilities or museum staff.
- Protects and prevents the possibility of stolen or damaged USGA property.
- Fill in for receptionist when requested.
- Perform tours of museum reporting any abnormalities or safety issues including mechanical problems.
- Keeps updated on all policies, procedures and scheduling.
- Locks and unlocks specified areas as directed.
- Assists with any emergencies that may arise.
- Raise and lower flags as requested.
- Assist in shipping and receiving as directed.
- Assist museum staff and facilities department as directed.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks/chores as requested.
- Assist with special events including setting up, maintaining and breaking down if requested.

Works closely with security supervisor and museum staff. Also all levels of USGA staff, police and fire departments, alarm company, central station, utility company, miscellaneous vendors, all museum guests and visitors.

- Able to work independently with little supervision required.
- Able to read, write and speak English clearly; courteous and conscientious required.
- Able to fill in for other shifts and flexibility with hours preferred.
- Physically able to make walking tours in all areas of museum with long periods of standing required.
- Certified in CPR/defibrillator preferred.

Must be team player willing to help out in other areas when requested.
Willing to assist and give direction to visitors in a friendly courteous manner.
Wears proper USGA attire while on duty. (Clean and neatly pressed)
