About the USGA:

Position Summary: 

The Web Developer requires analytical and problem-solving abilities along with some level of technical expertise. This position supports result processing and data management applications for the business. They must understand and conceptualize web applications from both a technical/programming perspective and a business point of view. This position is responsible for supporting the development of new technologies as well as supporting existing applications. He/She is expected to support the planning, researching and development of projects, including formulating the underlying logic, writing code and developing appropriate unit tests. He/She should know how to build an ASP.NET web application from the ground up, as well as have skills to modify and build on legacy code using Visual Studio or other commonly used tools.

What You Can Expect 

  • Write code, test and debug software applications, including enhancing and developing functionality for the USGA’s content management system
  • Support the design of major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware and infrastructure
  • Work with other developers, clarify requirements, and work closely with client to implement successful solutions
  • Analyze business application requirements for functional areas such as finance, admissions, merchandising, members, marketing, human resources, and other business units
  • Responsible for the delivery of quality applications delivered on time and built in compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Perform design and code reviews
  • Ensure that uniform enterprise wide application design standards are maintained
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure architecture is aligned with business requirements
  • Recommend system changes and enhancements
  • Document software specifications

What You Bring to the USGA 

  • 2+ Years of Knowledge of ASP.NET, VB.NET, JavaScript, AJAX, XSL, XML/XSL  and CSS required
  • 2+ Years of Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and/or SQL Server 2008 T-SQL is required
  • Experience in IIS configuration and troubleshooting is required
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and ASP.NET Web Services are required
  • Knowledge of development within a Content Management System is desired
  • WCF experience a plus
  • Must be the type of person who understands the importance of teamwork, collaboration and open communication
  • Experience in developing for a high-trafficked web site is desired
  • Experience working with JSON a plus
  • Must have experience working on individual and group projects
  • Experience in mobile development a plus, including iOS, Android or mobile web
  • Familiarity with video encoding and delivery a plus
