About the USGA:

Position Summary: 

The Technical Support Analyst is responsible for understanding all of Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) software products and services, especially the Tournament Pairing Program (TPP). This position supports customers on problem resolutions, technical issues, education and training, and fulfilling requests with the focus on client relationship building. The candidate must possess a strong attention to detail, the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and to work and communicate in a team atmosphere with service oriented objectives. The Technical Support Analyst must have strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and a strong work ethic. The candidate must be willing to travel and work some weekends to support the state and regional golf associations.


What You Can Expect 

  • Assist state and regional golf associations with running tournaments including but not limited to set up, administration, scoring websites, registration, clubhouse viewer, and on course scoring.
  • Educate golf association staff on the implementation and use of all GHIN products and services.
  • Assist golf associations in supporting their member clubs using GHIN services.
  • Use reporting documentation and channels to track issue resolutions and issue escalation when necessary. All association contact is recorded in central database for tracking and referencing
  • Participate in Quality Assurance testing of all GHIN software and applications.
  • Develop and conduct education seminars as requested.
  • Use remote tools to assist state and regional golf associations in supporting their member clubs.
  • Additional duties assigned as necessary.
 

What You Bring to the USGA 

  • Working knowledge of GHIN products and services required.
  • Must have knowledge of the game of golf, especially as it relates to the USGA Handicap System.
  • Must have exceptional experience and proficiency in TPP Association and Club software.
  • Knowledge of various tournament formats.
  • Extensive PC knowledge and experience in supporting software running on various operating systems and environments is required.
  • Experience in supporting relational database management systems preferred (SQL, DB, MySQL).
  • Experience in supporting networking environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
  • Knowledge of golf association administration.
  • Working experience in trouble shooting various web browsers.
  • Knowledge of mobile devices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with building rapport and eliciting problem details from help desk customers.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve in a time sensitive environment.
  • Convey a demeanor that is professional yet approachable with a service oriented approach.
  • Team player who is also comfortable working independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, provide analysis, solve problems, and collaborate with all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • 2 years relevant work experience required.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent work experience required.


Additional Comments: 

The Technical Support Analyst must be willing and able to travel (approximately 10 days/trips per year) and work weekends based on a rotating schedule.
