Senior Web Developer

Position Summary: 

Assist the Manager of Web Development in the design, development, maintenance and deployment of the USGA.org website and other USGA websites..


Responsibilities 

 
  • 40%-Design, develop, maintain and deploy various features for the USGA website including but not limited to the championship hub for 2 Opens and 13 amateur championships, the USGA homepage, membership pages, online social community, rules, course care, handicapping, equipment, clubs and courses. Responsible for timely defect and incident resolution, completion of development tasks, feature development/implementation, and QA testing.
  • 10%-Operate, maintain and update any of the additional USGA Websites as needed, including the Pub Store.
  • 25%-Design, develop, maintain, and deploy content delivery and content management applications via the Ektron Content Management System for the USGA.org website.
  • 10%-Design and develop Flash animations for the USGA websites.
  • 5%-Coordinate changes to the Web Site and to Web Site Content with USGA staff members, including providing onsite coverage at one or more championships.
  • 10%Develop and maintain Best Practice procedures for the software development lifecycle, including process management and QA.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities 

  • Extensive PC Knowledge (Required)
  • Experience with PC/Apple MacBook and Parallels BootCamp/Desktop (Preferred)
  • Experience and skill using graphics manipulation software, preferably Adobe CS including Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator, (Required)
  • Extensive experience with HTML, CSS, Flash, ActionScript, JavaScript, SQL, ASP, ASP.NET, XML/XSLT, VB.Net or C#, MS Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 (Required)
  • Experience with JSON, AJAX, JQuery, website debugging techniques, MS SQL Server 2005, Web Services (Preferred)
  • Experience with Ektron CMS 400 - Understands concepts surrounding management of large volumes of web content. Familiar with Ektron CMS API (C#) (Preferred)
  • Experience in scrum/agile software development practices/techniques and the SDLC (Preferred) Familiar with AxoSoft OnTime (Preferred)
  • Experience and skill in project management concepts and practices (Preferred)
  • Ability to operate well within a team environment composed of both technical and non-technical personnel.(Required)
  • Experience with source control/versioning systems such as SourceGear Vault, Visual SourceSafe, SubVersion, etc (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of golf (Preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
