Position Summary: 


The Senior Application/Web Developer position requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities along with a high level of technical expertise. This position supports result processing and data management applications for the business. They must understand and conceptualize web applications from both a technical/programming perspective and a business point of view. This position is responsible for developing new technologies as well as supporting existing applications. They are expected to plan, research and develop projects with minimal assistance, including formulating the underlying logic, writing code and developing appropriate unit tests. They should know how to build an ASP.NET web application from the ground up, as well as have skills to modify and build on legacy code using Visual Studio or other commonly used tools.


What You Can Expect 


  • Analyze business application requirements for functional areas such as finance, admissions, merchandising, members, marketing, human resources, and other business units.
  • The Senior Application/Web Developer will be responsible for designing major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware and infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the delivery of quality applications delivered on time and built in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Mentor other developers, clarify requirements, and work closely with client to implement successful solutions.
  • Perform design and code reviews.
  • Write code, test and debug software applications, including enhancing and developing functionality for the USGA’s content management system.
  • Ensure that uniform enterprise wide application design standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure architecture is aligned with business requirements.
  • Recommend system changes and enhancements.
  • Document software specifications. 



What You Bring to the USGA 

  • 5-7 Years of Knowledge of ASP.NET, VB.NET, JavaScript, AJAX, XSL, XML and CSS required
  • 5-7 Years of Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and/or SQL Server 2008 T-SQL is required
  • Knowledge of development within a Content Management System is desired
  • Experience in IIS configuration and troubleshooting is required
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and ASP.NET Web Services are required
  • WCF experience a plus
  • Must be a team leader who understands the importance of teamwork, collaboration and open communication
  • Experience in developing for a high-trafficked web site is desired
  • Experience working with JSON a plus
  • Must have experience working on individual and group projects
  • Experience in mobile development a plus, including native iOS, native Android or mobile web
