Position Summary: 

The Manager, Partnerships is responsible for the successful integration and ongoing service to the USGA’s top level corporate partnerships.  This role supports the primary day-to-day liaison between all of the USGA departments and functions and its top level corporate partners, specifically as it relates to their media assets and activation. The position must identify opportunities for partners, understand and mitigate obstacles, communicate internally and externally and ensure (and report against) the USGA and its partners to garner mutual value on an annual basis.

 


Duties 

Support the USGA’s primary day-to-day contact with existing top level corporate partners (specific partner assignments may vary):

  • Oversee and ensure contractual fulfillment of all media-related elements within the contract and of value to partners (PR, broadcast, digital, social, etc)
  • Assist the Assistant Director, Partnerships to ensure all contractual elements are fulfilled, as needed
  • Serve as the point of contact to review and secure approval on all proposed uses of USGA marks and mentions in partner media
  • Identify new activation opportunities for existing partners, particularly within using USGA-owned media assets
  • Coordinate and develop partner content platforms with the USGA Members team and other relevant departments
  • Track and prepare ongoing communications regarding programs, opportunities, challenges and successes for each partnership
  • Identify new media inventory/opportunities for partners (e.g., within USGA documentaries or live streaming)
  • Work with the Digital/Broadcast Department to support the packaging and fulfillment of online advertising, sponsorship campaigns and custom content/features
  • Work closely with partners and their agencies
  • Work with supervisor and other departments to further develop or refine partner initiatives and content across all media platforms
  • Stay current with digital industry trends, technologies, and pricing models
  • Monitor all program execution to ensure team has the proper level of support to deliver on time and on budget
  • Formulate activation plans to deliver partners campaigns with high performance metrics

 

Play an active role in driving and evaluating the value of each partnership to the USGA and the partner itself. Work closely with partners and their respective agency teams to:

  • Define key success metrics for each year of the partnership (for the partner and the USGA), specifically partner media plans with USGA integration and partner integration in USGA-owned media
  • Establish tracking methods to capture the relevant metrics and data needed to properly measure
  • Develop ongoing processes and/or meetings to discuss and identify wins and challenges
  • Prepare recommendations to improve and enhance existing programs

 

Support Department Strategic Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with the Partnerships Department to deliver against department goals and initiatives.  This includes constructing annual strategic operating plans, and corresponding budgets, for the department and the partnership program overall. 
  • Consider the USGA’s assets and determine how to best package those assets for partners, how to create and implement new partner benefits, and how to best integrate and collaborate with the USGA’s hospitality sales team in marketing to corporations.

 

 

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities 

  • College degree preferred
  • 3-5+ years experience (social media, digital, and new media a plus)
  • Understanding of emerging technologies
  • Ability to manage working relationships with key external and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and make recommendations from metrics
  • Client service or account management experience
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Knowledge of the USGA and its Championships
