Position Summary: 

 The USGA Membership Department employs a Data Warehouse solution to support the measurement and analysis of revenue, multi-channel marketing campaigns, member loyalty, member acquisition and retention, segmentation and general program management. The Manager, Membership Data Warehouse and Analytics, will work with the Assistant Director of Membership Analytics and Business Process to execute the Membership Data Warehouse and Analytics strategy and will be responsible for the day to day aspects of the following functions:

  • Monthly campaign management, reporting and results
  • Dashboard, report and analysis development
  • Data Warehouse structure and operations

 


Duties 

 

Monthly Campaign Management, Reporting and Results:

  • Manage all aspects of the Budget and Forecasting Tool and related data to ensure that forecasting data is timely and accurate.
  • Monitor actual results vs. budget/forecast; identify, document and communicate significant differences and their causes.
  • Recommend and manage enhancements to the Membership Budget and Forecasting tool to improve accuracy or to accommodate changes to marketing strategy, business plans and assumptions.  Define and document requirements, and work with the Data Warehouse vendor to ensure timely and accurate development and implementation.
  • Identify and understand business objectives and analysis requirements for monthly multi-channel campaigns and tests; translate analysis requirements into data requirements; work with the Marketing and Production/Operations teams to ensure that campaigns are set up and executed appropriately to meet these requirements; ensure that required data is imported into the Data Warehouse via the appropriate process.
  • Prepare monthly membership and campaign results reports.
  • Prepare results analysis for campaign tests and specific campaign initiatives.

 

Dashboard, Report and Analysis Development:

  • Define business and functional requirements for new dashboards, reports and analyses; define and document an appropriate development plan; work with appropriate Membership department staff or Data Warehouse vendor to execute the plan and ensure timely and accurate development.
  • Identify requirements and solutions for implementing cross-channel analytics and a holistic view of the customer.

 

Data Warehouse Structure and Operations:

  • Ensure that the Data Warehouse structure and underlying data support current and evolving analytics and reporting requirements; working with the appropriate Membership department staff, Data Warehouse vendor, and/or other vendors, manage the implementation of structural, data and/or procedural enhancements required for developing and enhancing campaign management, reporting and analysis capabilities when required.
  • Define and document business, data and functional requirements for all Data Warehouse and analytical functions and initiatives.
  • Working with appropriate Membership department staff or vendors, define, document and implement requirements for integrating data from disparate sources into the Data Warehouse.
  • Define, document, develop and implement business processes and technical solutions necessary to capture and/or transfer timely and accurate marketing campaign and reference data to the Membership database and/or the Membership Data Warehouse as part of the monthly Campaign Management process.
  • Define and document requirements for Master Data Management and data hygiene; educate Membership department staff and vendors on requirements; work with appropriate Membership department staff and external vendors to develop reports for monitoring data hygiene and for correcting identified issues.
  • Enhance existing tools, or manage the development of new tools to support analytics and information delivery with an emphasis on standardization and automation when possible.
  • For all initiatives define action plans, timelines, roles and responsibilities; monitor progress to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met.

 

 

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years business experience including Database Marketing, Campaign Analysis or Marketing Analysis experience; experience with multi-channel marketing analytics preferred
  • Demonstrated analytic leadership and strong business/marketing acumen
  • Ability to elicit and document business requirements from business partners of varying technical acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with different resources, vendors, priorities and timelines
  • Attention to detail
  • Relational database and SQL proficiency
  • Knowledge of MS Office including Excel 2010, Word, Power Point, Visio and Access
  • Experience with Tableau preferred
  • This position requires occasional travel to vendor locations and industry meetings
