About the USGA:

Position Summary: 

As part of the USGA Communications Department the newly created Manager, Members Content position is a rewarding role for a creative and dynamic content creator with at least three to five years of digital communications experience. This multi-faceted role is responsible for all things related to content ideation, creation and delivery, largely for the USGA’s virtual Members Clubhouse. The position acts as a liaison and collaborates with Members, Marketing, Digital, IT and USGA subject matter experts in the development and delivery of multi-media (editorial, video, photo, digital, social) content for membership channels that showcases the brand, key strategic programs and services to engage, retain and build a growing community of loyal USGA Members.

What You Can Expect 

  • Direct, lead and contribute to key internal and external content teams in the development of video concepts, scripts and production for the Members Clubhouse.
    • Oversee the process and editing to ensure quality, brand consistency and USGA strategic alignment so the goals of project assignments are achieved.
    • Work with internal and external content developers to produce exclusive communications (messaging /articles /multimedia/images/graphics/social media posts/campaigns) for the USGA Membership audience, with an emphasis on digital channel delivery.
    • Create, review and post content (stories, images, videos) via the USGA’s content management system for Member consumption.
  • Design and continuously evolve a content strategy that supports the short-term and long-term goals of the USGA Members program and broader set of USGA strategic priorities. Develop and manage an annual content calendar, exclusively directed to the USGA Member audience, largely for a digital environment.
  • Meet frequently with various USGA department representatives to identify potential communication opportunities that can be created for exclusive USGA Member digital content or programming. 
  • Establish ongoing meetings and routines with USGA Membership Department to review Member Dashboard results, formulate insights, present new content concepts, and identify future microsite enhancements to optimize response rates. Work closely with IT, Digital and third-party agencies as enhancements are rolled out. 

What You Bring to the USGA 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, advertising or marketing
  • 3-5 years of experience in conceiving, creating and delivering compelling digital content
  • Must be a team player and self-starter who is innovative, creative, professional and resourceful
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Writing and editing experience, preferably in sports marketing
  • Strong PC skills (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of HTML required
  • Familiarity with CMS systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf is required
