Consultant - Manager, Data and Operations

Position Summary: 

 

Will assist in the management and monitoring of day to day operations and special projects related to the Membership transactions database, data warehouse, business processes, data hygiene, and reporting and analysis.

 

6 month consultant with potential for future extensions tbd.

 


Duties 

 1) Analysis Support:

  • Develop queries to extract and prepare data to support business operations and analysis.
  • Develop and implement PowerPivot reports to support on-going and ad-hoc marketing analysis.
  • Assist in the development of new or modified analyses to evaluate the results of campaigns, tests, market segmentation, and market opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations for measurements and analytics to evaluate existing and new businesses.  Work with Membership Department staff to ensure that Data Warehouse and reports meet their needs.
  • Assist in interpreting analysis and data solution results in support of strategy development, program implementation, and back-end analysis. Prepare written summaries and presentations; share findings with business users; help drive the development of actionable recommendations.
  • Assist in educating business users on how to use data analytics to drive actionable insights for the business.
  • Provide back-up for Membership Department budget and cash flow management.

 

2) Data Warehouse Management and Operations: 

  • Manage data warehouse enhancements and related projects; define requirements and ensure that work is completed accurately and on-time.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of business processes necessary to capture and transfer timely and accurate marketing data to be used for campaign response analysis, ROI, Lifetime Value, etc.
  • Provide recommendations and requirements for possible enhancements that will expand the scope of possible analytics and reporting solutions or simplify their development
  • Manage Data Warehouse Sharepoint site.  Modify layout as required to optimize site organization to meet the needs of Membership Department staff.
  • Audit and validate Data Warehouse to ensure accuracy of data and related dimensions, measures, and reports.
  • Monitor on-going reports to ensure that refreshes occur as scheduled.
  • Act as day-to-day contact with Data Warehouse vendor for operations, SOW’s, invoices, and budget.
 

3) Transaction Database Management Services:

  • Provide assistance in defining and managing transaction database requirements for ongoing and special projects.  Provide recommendations for database and business process enhancements to support marketing and business needs.
  • Investigate data issues within the transaction database to determine cause; develop and implement recommendations for short- and long- term correction.
  • Monitor and track progress of various projects related to the transaction database.
  • Leverage marketing operations experience to develop and implement best practices and standard procedures across membership service operations.

 

4) Marketing Production and Operations:

  • Act as a secondary resource for acquisition or retention marketing programs and related operations. 
  •  Activities may include project plans, managing vendor requirements and production.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities 

  • Bachelor’s degree; 5 - 7 years marketing operations and analysis experience
  • Experience with Relational Databases;  knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts preferred
  • SQL knowledge and experience; Experience manipulating large datasets for analysis and reporting
  • MS Office experience, especially MS Excel; Excel 2010 with PowerPivot experience preferred
  • MS Sharepoint Power User experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving background
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)


Additional Comments: 

This position may require occasional travel to vendor locations and industry meetings.
