Position Summary: 

The Assistant Director/Director, Broadcasting will be responsible for coordinating with the USGA’s broadcast partners, both domestic and international, for the production and distribution of live Championship broadcasts and related USGA content. He/she will serve as the primary day-to-day liaison with the production teams from each broadcast partner to coordinate the planning and execution of the USGA’s Championship coverage, including the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Senior Open and all Amateur Championships that are scheduled to be distributed each year.


What You Can Expect 

  • Serve as the USGA’s primary advocate for broadcast initiatives, providing service and support to its broadcast partners
  • Work with broadcast partners to compile and coordinate the USGA’s annual programming schedule, including air times, shoulder programming, and digital coverage
  • Plan and attend production meetings and site surveys to ensure production plans are aligned with championship operations requirements
  • Coordinate promotional plans with each broadcast outlet to ensure alignment with USGA brand objectives and priorities
  • Collaborate with broadcast partners to plan, review and approve all broadcast elements including graphic treatments, PSA schedules, talent, and commercial integration plans
  • Plan and oversee the production and distribution of the USGA World Feed, including the identification, procurement and management of freelance personnel and production vendors
  • Attend USGA Championships as primary USGA liaison with production teams and USGA Championship staff
  • Track all broadcast audience measures and provide recaps and annual reports
  • Serve as an integral part of the Broadcast and Digital Media department, participating in annual departmental planning, budget management, and other department initiatives as requested

What You Bring to the USGA 


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 8+ years of experience in sports broadcasting
  • Knowledge of remote, live production
  • General knowledge of golf
  • Strong client service orientation and experience
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment
