Assist the Championships Office with the volunteer program and administrative duties of the 2014 U.S. Open Championships, including advance preparation/set-up, Championships week responsibilities and post-championships breakdown. The Championships Office is a fast-paced working environment. Interns must have the ability to work under pressure and handle many tasks at one time. Each day brings new challenges and interns must have top-notch organizational and communication skills. On a daily basis, interns will find themselves working in a typical office environment as well as significant work done in exterior environs. The ability to handle some physical tasks such as lifting boxes and manual labor will be required at times. The intern will assist with volunteer training including: organizing training session materials, volunteer handbooks, and the distribution of volunteer credentials along with other important information. The Volunteer Program for the 2014 U.S. Opens consists of more than 6,000 volunteers within 23 volunteer committees. The intern will also handle special projects which will arise in the weeks leading up to Championships and during the event.
