Duties
  1. Volunteer Operation
    1. Recruitment process for all Championship volunteers: distribute, receive and process volunteer applications and enter information into volunteer database
    2. Uniform process for all Championship volunteers: distribute, receive and process volunteer uniform information and enter information into volunteer database
    3. Work with selected committee chairmen to review volunteer applications and assign volunteers to various committees based on selected criteria
    4. Schedule meetings with committee chairmen, hole marshal captains and area captains
    5. Credential assignment and distribution
    6. Background check and passport photo process
    7. Various office mailings
    8. Coordinate all volunteer training session materials
    9. Volunteer newsletter production

  2. Player Services
    1. Spouse Welcome Baskets
    2. Player Services Directory
    3. Player Family Activities
    4. Daycare
    5. Player Registration
    6. Player Hospitality
    7. Player Information Manual
    8. Player Pre-Registration and Accommodations
    9. Coordinate with courtesy car liaison on the distribution of cars to players as they arrive at the Championship
    10. Manage the Hotel Shuttle Committee to ensure shuttles are running properly between select hotels and Bethpage State Park during the week of the Championship

  3. Championship Office
    1. Manage incoming telephone calls and office visitors
    2. Maintain system for accurate record keeping of accounts payable
    3. Manage office supplies and equipment
    4. Maintain office filing system
    5. Keep office clean and organized
    6. Assist with data entry and maintenance of all Championship databases
    7. Administrative Assistant duties for Director and Assistant Manager
    8. Coordinator various projects for Championship Office volunteers and interns

    Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities

    Exceptional organizational skills

    Good computer skills including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

    Good interpersonal skills

    Some lifting may be required (chairs, coolers, tables, etc)

    Flexible Schedule – During specific periods, work load will require extended weekday hours and mandatory weekends

    Prior experience in golf tournament operations a plus
