Matt Elmore has been selected as in intern to travel with the USGA agronomists in the Southeast Region this summer.  He is a Ph.D. student in the turfgrass weed science program at the University of Tennessee under the direction of Drs. Jim Brosnan and Greg Armel.

Matt grew up in Landenberg, PA and got his introduction to the field of turfgrass management while working in the pro shop at the local golf course.  After a summer internship at Fieldstone Golf Club (Greenville, DE), he worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the turfgrass weed science program at Penn State for more than two years.  Matt graduated with a B.S. degree in turfgrass science from Penn State in 2009, and a M.S. degree from the University of Tennessee in 2011.

Matt plans to graduate in 2014 and become a researcher in the turfgrass industry or academia.
