Southeast Region

Bob Cross will travel in the Southeast Region this summer.  He is a master’s student at Clemson University studying turfgrass management and weed science under the guidance of Dr. Bert McCarty.  His research involves herbicide resistance issues in Poa annua control programs for golf courses.

Bob is a lifelong golfer who began working on golf courses when he was in high school.  During his senior year, he decided to study turfgrass management in college and pursue a career in the golf course industry.  He graduated with his undergraduate degree from Clemson in 2008, and worked as an assistant golf course superintendent at Sage Valley Golf Club (Graniteville, SC) before returning to Clemson for his graduate studies.

Bob plans to graduate later this year and continue his career in the golf course industry.
