Ty Patton will travel with the agronomists in the Northwest Region this summer. He is a graduate student studying turfgrass management at Oregon State University under the advisement of Dr. Rob Golembiewski.
Ty’s interest in the golf industry started after being hired as a seasonal employee at Corvallis Country Club in 2007. He is a 2010 graduate of Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in horticulture. Ty also is a graduate research assistant studying the impact of soil amendments on the drought resistance of turf. Ty has worked at multiple golf courses including the Stock Farm (Hamilton, MT).
After graduation with his master’s degree in December 2012, Ty plans to work toward becoming a certified golf course superintendent.
