Robert Butler was selected to be an intern for the Green Section’s North Central Region this summer. He is a senior at the University of Nebraska studying turfgrass and landscape management under the advisement of Dr. Zac Reicher and Anne Streich.
Robert was raised in Kearney, Nebraska, and worked at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course while attending high school. It was during this time that he fell in love with both the game of golf and the turfgrass industry. After six years of working on golf courses, and going to college for another major, Robert decided that he was on the wrong career path and changed his major to turfgrass management. Robert currently works for Dr. Reicher as a research assistant.
After graduation in December 2012, Robert will decide to either pursue a graduate degree, or enter the workforce with the intent of becoming a golf course superintendent.
