Tyler Johanson has been selected as an intern for the Green Section’s Florida Region. He is a junior at the University of Florida studying golf and sports turf management under the guidance of Dr. Jason Kruse.
Tyler’s love of the game of golf began as a teenager growing up in Syracuse, Utah, after his father took him to the local golf course and driving range. His first experience with golf course management occurred when a member of the maintenance staff showed him how to change a cup on the green that he was practicing putting on, and has loved it ever since. Tyler has worked at Swan Lakes Golf Course (Layton, UT); Ogden Golf and Country Club (Ogden, UT); Meadowbrook Golf Course (Gainesville, FL); and the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida.
In addition to participating in the USGA internship, Tyler will intern at On Top of the World Communities (Ocala, FL). He and his wife Tiffany have a two year old son and are expecting twin boys this summer.
